ARGENT MIRROR: Artwork by Cimone Kind Berman

My art is a fusion of time-honored craftsmanship and transformative alchemy. Each mirror tells a unique story, blending history, craft, and artistic vision, inviting observers to glimpse both their own reflection and the enchanting metamorphosis of existence itself.
This series draws inspiration from nature, entwining the rhythms of ocean tides and lunar phases with my practice. By infusing the essence of alchemy into my work, I transmute clear glass into ethereal portals. These mirrors become vessels where copper, silver, and gold meld together, embodying the intrinsic beauty of the elements.
I will invite someone into my studio and I'll say, "I want you to look at what I've created and I want you to tell me what talks to you and what you feel." And then we go from there and we collaborate and create something for them in their home or their business. It's exciting to bring someone else's vision to life.
Within my creative process, I honor the connection between the Earth, moon and the essence of art, drawing inspiration from the natural rhythms that guide my work.
"John Wind, is known for celebrating dynamic, bold women in art & design especially through his own artistic journey. So, when I met Cimone at her warehouse in Port Richmond— I felt she embodied the same unwavering boldness and fearlessness similar to the women John admired. Thinking a bit, the idea of a potential DesignPhilly Festival collaboration between the two sparked and I had to make an introduction!
Their partnership and new friendship is not just a nod but an exclamation, that perfectly sums up DesignPhiladelphia's mission to ignite thoughtful connections and foster these types of collaborations within our local design community."- Jermaine A. "When I first saw the mysterious and magical creations of Argent Mirror, the jeweler in me dreamed of scaling them down and creating new kinds of gems. Luckily Cimone liked the idea and was game for the challenge... Though she had never worked so small, the science and alchemy translated beautifully to the modern acrylic shapes we chose for their light weight and durability.
I took these pieces and added unique chains, earring tops and ring shanks from my archive, and behold--a new jewelry collection was born! Cimone approached our collab with the same enthusiasm, creativity and skill that she brings to everything she does, and I am proud to present Argent Mirror X John Wind." - John Wind
