On June 11, 2022, Sculpture Magazine and the International Sculpture Center partnered with the Louise Nevelson Foundation and the Dina Wind Art Foundation to present In Conversation: Louise Nevelson & Dina Wind, Abstraction & Assemblage. Now, this highly anticipated series, featuring the first dialogue about Louise Nevelson, Dina Wind, and the intersectionality of their practices, is now live on YouTube. Moderated by Erica Battle, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the discussion with Nevelson's granddaughter, Maria, and Wind's son, John, each also the president of their respective foundations, explored their deep understandings of the art and context behind each woman's oeuvre.
The conversation was held in the art-filled home Dina and Jerry Wind shared for many years, with significant works by both Nevelson and Wind in their collection. Jerry also offered his own brief reflections on his wife’s practice, their art collecting, and their Nevelson works in particular.
