DINA WIND SCULPTURE CONSERVATION FUND FOR OUTDOOR SCULPTURE
An endowment fund to support the stewardship and conservation of Woodmere’s collection of significant outdoor sculpture by Philadelphia’s artists. In the words of William R. Valerio, Woodmere’s Director & CEO:
“Dina and I had spent time together walking Woodmere’s grounds, not only discussing the qualities of the Museum’s sculpture collection, but also assessing conservation needs. In particular, we discussed Leon Sitarchuk’s beautiful Pillar. Dina admired the sculpture and described how Sitarchuck had been an important teacher and mentor. It was therefore an easy decision that the first project of the Fund would be the conservation of Sitarchuk’s sculpture. Several of the welds had broken and were in need of repair. Outdoor sculpture takes a beating from the elements, and Woodmere is most grateful that this fund was created to honor Dina and her legacy.”
