    Elizabeth Hamilton

Blue Band Plate I, Derby Porcelain Factory, 2020
    Paper plate, acrylic paint, watercolor
    9 x 9 x 1"
"I’ve always loved fancy dinnerware and of course, floral imagery is a mainstay in my visual vocabulary so naturally I’m interested in their floral plates. I was told my mother left me her wedding china, but I’m not sure where it ended up. I have two pieces of dinnerware from distant and deceased female relatives...I’m less interested in the things and more the idea of inheritance, of what someone values to the degree that they intend to give it to descendants."

The Dina Wind Art Foundation empowers living artists, builds community, and supports arts education.

We are inspired by the legacy of Dina Wind (1938-2014), a trailblazing artist and arts advocate whose bold, abstract sculptures challenged stereotypes and embraced sustainability.
