1980 Wind Challenge Artist
Dan Wittels, a painter born and raised in Philadelphia, earned his BA in Art from Temple University in 1973 and his MFA from Hofberger School of Maryland, College of Art in 1977. Wittles was the recipient the VCCA Residency Fellowship from Virginia Center for the Creative Arts in 1986, 1989, and 1991 and YADDO Residency Fellowship in New York 1990. He also mentored mixed-media artist Lauren Carrera.
