Elissa Glassgold

1985 Wind Challenge Artist 

Glassgold studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, during which time I was awarded a William Emlen Cresson Memorial Traveling Scholarship. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Art and Art Education from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and MFA in Painting from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

 

In 1987 she was awarded an Individual Artist Grant from the Pennsylvania State Council on the Arts. She was represented by and exhibited her work at the Charles More Gallery in Philadelphia, and have participated in many faculty, solo and group exhibitions which included the Lawrence Gallery of Rosemont College, Pennsylvania, the Philadelphia Art Alliance, the Ackland Art Museum UNC, The Wind Challenge Exhibition/Fleisher Art Memorial, Philadelphia, PA, The Philadelphia Art Alliance, The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Woodmere Art Museum, Philadelphia PA, The Noyes Museum of Art, New Jersey, The University of Delaware, Abington Art Center, PA, and The Drawing Center in NYC. Glassgold was also a founding member of Nexus Gallery, Philadelphia, where she exhibited in group and solo shows.
