Cynthia Back earned a BFA from Minneapolis College of Art and Design and studied at Wimbledon School of Art and St. Martin’s School of Art (post-graduate certificate) in London, England. She is a printmaker and painter who has exhibited widely including solo exhibitions at Escola Secundária Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro and Galerie de Exposições do Espaço Turismo in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal in 2023, The Studios of Key West, Florida in 2021, Washington Printmakers Gallery, Washington, D.C. in 2019, 2017 and 2016, and many more. Back's work is included in numerous private and corporate collections, including The Library of Congress, Washington, D.C., the New York Public Library, the Newark Public Library, Newark, New Jersey, the Free Library of Philadelphia, and The New-York Historical Society.
