2015 Wind Challenge Artist
Jesse Gorham Engaard works in the areas of improvised community, instinctual movement, and forgotten meaning. He often finds inspiration from common misunderstandings and uncommon cultural phenomena. Each artistic effort is an attempt to encourage cognitive shifts by creating psychic dissonance between the traditional expectations of the viewer and their unexpected perceptions of the work. Video is Engaard's main artistic medium, but he also creates sculptures and designs sets for film and theater.
