2010-11 Wind Challenge Artist
Gillian Pears earned a BFA from Evergreen State Collegean, an MFA from the Cranbrook Academy of Art, and a Post Baccalaureate Certificate from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. Drawing from both literature and film, she constructs spaces for her photographs that are neither concrete nor fictional in their representational. Rather, Pears' photographs embody a space between the familiar and the imagined, and act as emotional responses to our collective sense of place.
