2001 Wind Challenge Artist
Scot Kaylor earned a BFA from Syracuse University and an MFA from the Rinehart Graduate School of Sculpture at the College of Art at Maryland Institute. He presents sculpture of recognizable human scale but which is at the same time minimal and abstract. The resulting work, which has the look of obscure formalized totemic objects, takes on new content through the juxtaposition of found objects and textures Kaylor employs.
