2020 Wind Challenge Artist
Jessica Curtaz earned a BA from UC Santa Cruz in both Plant Biology and Printmaking and an MFA in Drawing from Claremont Graduate University. Her detail oriented work reflects her prior experience working in Oceanographic research. She crochets weeds, insects, real and imaginary creatures, and other over-sized flora and fauna onto the urban landscape, bringing a feminized craft out of the home and onto the streets. In 2021, Curtaz was featured in a Viewing Room exhibition at DWAF. You can view her exhibition here.
