1989 Wind Challenge Artist
Syd Carpenter earned both her BFA and MFA from Tyler School of Art at Temple University. Her artwork is held in the collections of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Renwick Gallery of American Art and many others. In 2026, Carpenter will have a restrospective of her work at the Woodmere Art Museum, Frances M. Maguire Art Museum, and the Berman Museum titled "Syd Carpenter: Planting in Place, Time, and Memory."
