1981 Wind Challenge Artist
Mel Leipzig studied at The Cooper Union earning a 3 year certificate, earned his BFA from Yale University's School of Art and Architecture, and his MFA from Pratt Institute. He has won numerous awards including a 1958-59 Fulbright Grant to study in Paris. Leipzig's art is included in the collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art, the National Academy Museum, the Cooper-Hewitt Museum, and the Woodmere Art Museum among serveral others.
