1981 Wind Challenge Artist
Dennis E. Congdon earned his BFA in 1975 from Rhode Island School of Design and his MFA in 1979 from Yale University's School of Art. Congdon was also recognized for his work and awarded the Rome Prize in 1983 from the American Academy in Rome, he was a Guggenheim Foundation Fellow from 2002-03, and was a Painting Fellow through the Massachusetts Cultural Council Fellowship in 2016.
